Welcome!
Happy New year everyone
This year I was fortunate to get an ipad for christmas , so my attention has gone to looking at apps that will transform my online activitys and make it easy to manage my digital presence.
the first thing I found was the array of apps available. During a search within my network I had access to some great apps.

This "Personal Learning Network" is being developed for learners to take control of and manage their own learning. It will help learners develop learning goals while managing their personal learning process.
Having a PLN gives you an opportunity to learn from others that are interested in the same learning strategies and information.
Social computing applications provide new platforms where people can connect, share and create together and become members of networks and communities. There are a number of teacher community of practices, both closed and open, that allow teachers to network and share.

The Horizon Report for 2011 has been released!
Since 2005, the annual Horizon Report has been the most visible aspect of a focused collaboration between the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI) and the New Media Consortium in which the two organizations engage their memberships in both the creation and outcomes of the research.
The New Media Consortium (NMC) is a globally focused not-for-profit consortium dedicated to the exploration and use of new media and new technologies. Its hundreds of member institutions constitute an elite list of the most highly regarded colleges, universities, and museums in the worlds. For nearly 20 years, the consortium and its members have dedicated themselves to exploring and developing applications of emerging technologies for learning, research, and creative inquiry. For more information on the NMC, visit www.nmc.org.

The news lends further support for a prediction Gartner Research made in September that the open-source Android OS would be the leading smartphone OS by 2014.
Android phones outsold iPhones for the first time in early 2010, and a report from Nielsen recently revealed that Android increased its share of new smartphone buyers between January and November while Apple?s share remained about steady and BlackBerry?s decreased.
